CTA's 55th annual Good Teaching Conferences, designed to support good teaching and learning practices for classroom teachers, will be held in Oakland Jan. 20-22 and in Hollywood March 10-12.
Under the theme of "Ready! Set! Teach!" the conferences offer a variety of workshops in curriculum content areas for K-12 teachers.
Among the workshop topics are "Plagiarism in the Digital Age," "Improving Adolescent Literacy: Strategies That Work," "Disruptive Students: Always Early - Never Sick!" and "Putting the Fun Back in Math."
Three pre-conference training sessions will be offered in classroom management techniques and state trends in high school reform.
Registration fees are $150 for members/fee payers, $30 Student CTA and $450 for non-members. On-site registration is not available. The registration fee includes the Friday reception, lunch on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.
