Position Summary
Region 2 is geographically the largest of CTA’s four regions and includes 30 of California’s 58 counties.This position is based at the Region 2 Headquarters office in the Natomas area of Sacramento. The Assistant Regional Manager supports the coordination of the Region’s programs and the supervision of staff in 15 offices located as far north as Redding and as far south as Bakersfield.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Assistant Executive Director of Region 2 to coordinate, supervise, direct, and otherwise manage the staff, property, and program of CTA within the Region. Specifically, the duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Assisting with the preparation of a program-oriented budget for all CTA operations within the Region for inclusion in an overall statewide budget.
- Assisting with the responsibility for the affairs of CTA related to real estate and association property management within the Region.
- Assisting with the supervision and evaluation of UniServ and Associate staff within the Region.
- Assisting with coordination of member and of UniServ and Associate staff training programs.
- Assisting with membership promotion.
- Assisting in maintaining liaison and consultation with leadership from Chapters, Service Center Councils and CTA Board of Directors levels within the Region.
- Performing such other duties and special projects as may be assigned by the Assistant Executive Director of Region 2.
Qualifications
- A BA or BS Degree. Advanced Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of effective management (staff and fiscal) techniques and corresponding experience.
- Broad experience in local teacher/higher education and ESP association activity and staff field experience is desirable
- Outstanding written and oral communications.
- Successful experience with and demonstrated skill in organization and coordination of complex group projects and activities.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with staff, Association leaders and CTA members.
- Broad understanding of the critical issues and problems facing the public schools and the teaching profession in California and the nation.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and familiarity with CTA technology programs.
