Day One - Skills Used in the Process
The focus is on learning essential IBB skills: listening, effective communication, assertiveness, improving relationships, consensus building, team building, and brainstorming.
Day Two - Interest-Based Bargaining Methodology
Using Fisher and Ury's Getting to Yes video, interspersed with a simulation, participants will learn to identify and apply the concepts of interests, options, standards, alternatives, and BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement).
Day Three - Using the Process
Participants will master ways to move in an orderly manner toward closure, so that final decisions result in a written contract. Participants are also trained in how to identify the interests of labor's and management's constituent groups for the purpose of resolving relevant issues of the parties.
