CTA Service Center Council Human Rights Award

San Gorgonio Service Center Council | Rebecca Harper, Chair

This year’s Human Rights Award for a CTA Service Center Council goes to the San Gorgonio Service Center Council. This Service Center is composed of 38 local chapters and represents approximately 35,000 members in Inyo, Imperial, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Their commitment to human rights advocacy is outstanding and admirable. They have empowered their Human Rights and Equity Team Committees to be inclusive of minorities and GLBT Leaders. The San Gorgonio Service Center Council is committed to provide their members with effective human rights training and intensive ethnic-minority leadership development. About 100 participants attend their Human Rights Outreach Program each year. They have successfully designed and implemented programs for their membership that provide information about the importance of human and civil rights. Through their advocacy, they have increased community partnerships throughout the Service Center’s area.

Accepting the award on behalf of the San Gorgonio Service Center Council is the Chair, Ms. Rebecca Harper.
