Council elected Mary Rose Ortega to the District J-LA seat on the CTA Board of Directors and re-elected Michael R. Green to the District H seat on the Board.
It also elected Danny Howerton (District H), Hattie McFrazier (District J), Terri Jackson (District C), Andy Megaw (District K) and Michael Stone (District N) to seats on the CTA/ABC Committee.
In other business, Council:
- Recognized the winners of the Ted Bass/Joyce Fadem Awards for political action, the state WHO awards, the state's Teachers of the Year and CTA's nominee for the NEA Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching.
- Approved a budget for the coming year.
- Took positions on 43 pieces of legislation.
