Getting Married or Divorced?

(Or, Forming or Ending a Domestic Partnership?)

Making a life-long commitment to another individual is an important step – and one that requires support. That’s why your CTA Member Benefit Programs offer a variety of options to help you embark on this new phase of your life.

Enrolling in CTA Voluntary Group Life and Disability Insurance Plans:

Consider whether you (and your spouse/domestic partner) have enough life and accident insurance coverage through CTA’s endorsed provider, The Standard, whenever you have a Family Status Change (birth/adoption, marriage/domestic partnership, divorce/dissolution) you have 31 days from that date to make adjustments to your Life and Disability plans with no evidence of good health required.

The CTA Voluntary Group Life Insurance Plan features a wide range of coverage options from which to choose. You may want to consider enrolling in, or increasing your coverage, under this plan to ensure you have the protection you need.

You should also consider whether you need disability coverage. If you’re not enrolled in the CTA Voluntary Group Disability Insurance Plan, now might be the time to do so.
