The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) – the state's new system for funding K-12 schools that directs more resources to California's highest-need students – is being implemented statewide. This monumental shift in how schools are funded gives districts more resources, local control and flexibility to spend the money to best meet student needs.
The LCFF is targeted to add $2.1 billion in funding for the 2013-14 school year. When fully implemented, the LCFF is targeted to increase California's education spending by $18 billion.
