This week the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees will take action on bills that have been placed in the Suspense File because of their significant costs. The Suspense File is a unique feature of the Appropriations Committees. These lawmakers send any bill with an annual cost of more than $150,000 to "suspense." Suspense File bills are then considered at one hearing after the state budget has been prepared and the committee has a better sense of available revenue. No testimony is presented at the hearing.
CTA has several bills in the Suspense File. Look for an update on those bills in next week's edition of Capitol News.
