Among those candidates are SPI Tom Torlakson for re-election; Gov. Jerry Brown received overwhelming and ongoing support as well; Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom; state Attorney General Kamala Harris; Commissioner of Insurance Dave Jones; and Controller John Chiang, who is a candidate for state Treasurer. Council also voted to support John Pérez, who is running for state Controller.

In addition, Council voted to support dozens of candidates in local assembly and state senate races. See the list here.
