At Region 3 Conference, CTA Family Works to Get Food to Hungry Children

CTA members, leaders and staff kicked off this past weekend's Region 3 Leadership Conference in Pasadena by packing 10,000 meals in three hours to help children in Vietnam and the Philippines.

They raised $3,595 for a charity, Stop Hunger Now.

The enthusiastic CTA family really got into the spirit of the effort and packed non-perishables like rice and soy flour in assembly-line style.

"Having the opportunity to help people in need of food is a gift," said CTA President Dean Vogel. "When the chance to work on a project like this arises, people should jump at it. It really enriches us -- in a less tangible way -- as much as it does the kids we're feeding today. I can't think of a better or more uplifting way to start this conference."

CTA Deputy Executive Director Karen Kyhn agreed. "This is such great camaraderie for such a wonderful cause. It's really rewarding to be with our leaders and staff working together for such a good purpose.”
