The Liaison program allows CTA to reach out and collaborate with other organizations with similar interests, as well as, mutually supporting each other with education and civil rights issues. These relationships have served CTA and other organizations with several positive outcomes and changes, such as, legislation that created Day of the Teacher, which was co-sponsored by CTA and the Association of Mexican American Educators. Many of the organizations that have worked closely with CTA have helped to make significant contributions to education and have also assisted in affecting changes to legislation. These networking relationships with other associations provide CTA a greater scope to influence positive changes in the education community.
