Leslie Littman is currently in her second term on the CTA Board of Directors representing approximately 14,000 educators working in the Los Angeles Area.
She has taught social studies at Hart High School in the William S. Hart Union High School District for 22 years, where she received the NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011.
Littman served as president of the Hart District Teachers Association from 2007 to 2012 and was its vice president from 1999 to 2007. She also served on the CTA State Council as a delegate and later as chair of the Credentials and Professional Development and Elections Committees. Additionally she was a member of the CTA ABC Committee, CTA’s political action committee. From 2003-2008, Littman served as the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s designee on the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
A graduate of California public schools and universities, she received her BA and Master’s Degree from UCLA. Littman became a teacher because it is a profession where each day is different, and each day brings a new opportunity to help students achieve their dreams.
She resides in Santa Clarita.
